Day-by-Day Himalayan Adventure Through Forest Trails, Temples & Mountain Summits
Your journey begins early in the morning from Delhi or Rishikesh, heading towards the beautiful Himalayan region of Chopta. The drive itself is an experience, taking you through winding mountain roads, river valleys, and scenic landscapes.
As you move further into Uttarakhand, you will witness the confluence of rivers at Devprayag and Rudraprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers merge to form the Ganga. These sacred confluences add a spiritual touch to the journey.
The route passes through small towns, dense forests, and charming villages, offering glimpses of local Himalayan life. The gradual transition from plains to mountains becomes evident as the air gets cooler and the surroundings more serene.
By evening, you reach Sari village or Chopta, where you check into camps or a guesthouse. The peaceful environment, fresh mountain air, and star-lit sky create a perfect setting to unwind.
A briefing session is conducted in the evening, where you are introduced to the trek route, safety guidelines, and the plan for the next day. After everything, the Dinner is served, followed by rest.
The day starts early with breakfast, followed by the trek towards Tungnath Temple. The trekbegins from Chopta and is well-defined with a gradual ascent. The stone-paved path makes the trek comfortable while still offering a sense of adventure.
As you ascend, the surroundings open up to expansive views of the Himalayas. During spring, the trek is filled with blooming rhododendron flowers, while in winter, the entire route is covered in snow, creating a magical landscape.
After a steady climb, you will reach Tungnath Temple, which stands at an altitude of around 12,000 ft. This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the Panch Kedar temples. The spiritual energy and peaceful surroundings make it a unique experience.
From Tungnath, the trek continues towards Chandrashila Summit. This final stretch is steeper but rewarding. Upon reaching the summit, you are greeted with breathtaking panoramic views of major Himalayan peaks.
Spend some time at the summit soaking in the views, clicking photographs, and enjoying the sense of achievement.
Afterward, we will descend back to Chopta and return to our campsite or guesthouse for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will begin the trek to Deoriatal Lake from Sari village. The trek is relatively easy and passes through forest sections and open clearings.
As you ascend gradually, the view becomes more scenic. Upon reaching Deoriatal, you are welcomed by a stunning high-altitude lake surrounded by forests and snow-capped peaks.
The lake is famous for its mirror-like reflection of the Chaukhamba peaks, creating a mesmerizing visual experience. The peaceful environment makes it an ideal place to relax and connect with nature.
After spending some time at the lake, you will descend back to Sari village. The return journey to Rishikesh or Delhi begins, marking the end of the trek.
This is the last day of your trek and its time say healthy goodbye to the mountains and new friends.
