Unlike the standard Kedarkantha itinerary, this extended version allows travelers to explore multiple destinations while gradually acclimatizing to the mountains.
The journey begins from your hometown and takes you to Haridwar and Rishikesh—two of the most spiritually vibrant and adventure-filled destinations in India. Rishikesh, known as the Yoga Capital of the World, offers a perfect start with activities like river rafting, Ganga Aarti, and peaceful riverside experiences.
From there, the journey continues towards Sankri via Mori Valley, which is one of the most scenic drives in Uttarakhand. Sankri serves as the base village for the Kedarkantha Trek and offers breathtaking views of the snow-covered Himalayan ranges.
The trek itself is one of the most popular winter treks in India. What makes Kedarkantha special is its perfect balance of accessibility and adventure. It is beginner-friendly yet offers a thrilling summit climb, making it suitable for both first-time trekkers and experienced hikers.
The trek passes through dense pine forests, snow-covered landscapes, and beautiful campsites like Juda Ka Talab and Kedarkantha Base Camp. Each campsite offers unique views and experiences, from frozen lakes to open meadows surrounded by mountains.
The highlight of the trek is the summit climb to Kedarkantha Peak at 12,500 ft. The early morning ascent through snow and darkness leads to a spectacular sunrise view from the top. The panoramic view of peaks like Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Black Peak is a reward worth every step.
After completing the trek, the journey continues to Mussoorie, known as the Queen of Hills. This adds a relaxing and scenic end to the adventure, allowing travelers to unwind after the trek.
This 9-day itinerary is not just a trek—it is a complete travel experience. It combines adventure, culture, spirituality, and leisure, making it ideal for those who want more than just trekking. It ensures proper acclimatization, reduces travel fatigue, and enhances the overall Himalayan experience.
