Kedarnath, situated in the Chamoli district of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, holds profound significance in Hindu religion and spirituality. Standing tall at an altitude of 3583 meters, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, revered as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. It is the highest among all 12 and serves as the first destination of the Panch Kedar pilgrimage site. Each year, thousands of visitors from around the world flock to this wonder nestled in the lap of nature. However, reaching the temple requires an 18-kilometer trek from Gaurikund, which can be steep and challenging. It’s advisable for trekkers to undergo regular medical check-ups, particularly those with breathing issues, as the high altitude may pose discomfort. Nonetheless, for trekking enthusiasts, this journey adds an exhilarating touch after witnessing the magnificence of the Kedarnath temple.
Continuing on the Kedarnath and Badrinath Trip Package, we encounter another sacred destination, the Badrinath temple. Situated at an altitude of 3300 meters in the same Chamoli district, this temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu holds immense significance. Legend has it that Lord Vishnu meditated under a Badri tree, hence the name Badrinath. Both Kedarnath and Badrinath temples are deeply rooted in Hindu scriptures and religious texts. Unlike Kedarnath, Badrinath temple is easily accessible by road, ensuring a hassle-free journey for our guests.
Throughout the trip, interacting with locals provides invaluable insights into why these destinations hold such profound relevance in Hindu mythology and religion. During winter, both temples remain closed due to heavy snowfall, ensuring the safety of pilgrims. One of the highlights of this tour package is the opportunity to capture breathtaking forest ranges, majestic peak views, and serene dawn and evening moments, creating lasting memories. We consider ourselves fortunate to facilitate the journey for seekers and adventure enthusiasts, ensuring a comfortable and safe travel experience amidst the embrace of nature.
Commencing our journey from the sacred city of Haridwar, we embark on a comfortable drive to Sonprayag. Covering a distance of 233 kilometers, this leg of the journey is estimated to take approximately 7-8 hours, with provisions for breaks and refreshments along the way. As we traverse through the route, expect to witness a rich tapestry of flora and fauna, accompanied by a noticeable change in temperature and air quality upon reaching Sonprayag, situated at an altitude of 1829 meters. Notably, Sonprayag holds significant spiritual value, believed to be the sacred site where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were united in marriage.
Following a restful night in Sonprayag, we embark on our second day’s journey towards the revered destination of Kedarnath. Prepare yourself for an exhilarating 16-kilometer trekking experience, commencing with a cab ride to Gaurikund. The trek begins at 4 AM to ensure timely completion, spanning approximately 6-7 hours. Along the trail, soak in the breathtaking views of Jungle Chatti and Bheem Bali, popular rest stops offering refreshments. As the trek ascends to an altitude of 3583 meters, a medical check-up is recommended, particularly for individuals with respiratory concerns. Alternatively, Palki, mules, or Kandi services are available for those preferring not to walk.
After a period of refreshment and relaxation, we descend back to Sonprayag, marking the transition to the next phase of our journey – the Badrinath Temple. The descent offers captivating views of Kedarnath Temple, heightening anticipation for the darshan at Badrinath ji. Returning to Gaurikund, take the opportunity to rejuvenate before proceeding via cab to Sonprayag and your hotel stay. Exercise caution during the descent, as the terrain may present challenges. Upon reaching Sonprayag, take ample rest and prepare for the forthcoming day filled with scenic marvels and the Badrinath Temple.
Indulge in a delightful Pahadi breakfast at Sonprayag before embarking on a 225-kilometer drive to Badrinath Temple. Anticipate a journey of approximately 7-8 hours, offering enchanting vistas of villages and towns such as Guptkashi, Joshimath, and Govind Ghat. Guptkashi boasts renowned temples like Vishwanath and Ardhnarishwar, with snow-covered peaks lending an aura of tranquility. Similarly, Joshimath, nestled at an altitude of 6150 feet, serves as a gateway to various Himalayan treks and destinations. En route, relish the Himalayan weather and sceneries, with a lunch stop provided for refreshments. Unlike Kedarnath, access to Badrinath Temple is convenient, with drop-off provided near the temple.
Having absorbed the divine aura and scenic beauty of Badrinath, we embark on our return journey to Haridwar. This final leg of the journey spans approximately 9-10 hours, offering picturesque views of forests and water streams along the route. Rest assured, we prioritize your comfort throughout the journey, welcoming your feedback to continually enhance our services and ensure memorable experiences for all.
