Nag Tibba Trek is a popular hiking trail nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India. Renowned for its scenic beauty and relatively easy accessibility, the trek offers a perfect adventure for beginners and seasoned trekkers alike.”Nag Tibba” means “Serpent’s Peak,” and the trail ascends to the peak of the mountain, which is located at an approximate elevation of 3,022 meters (9,915 feet) above sea level.

The trek typically begins from the quaint village of Pantwari, situated at the foothills of the Nag Tibba range. From Pantwari, trekkers embark on a picturesque journey through dense forests adorned with oak and rhododendron trees, which come alive with vibrant colors during the spring season. As the trail ascends, trekkers are treated to breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks, lush valleys, and cascading streams.

Day 1: Dehradun to Pantwari

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:Dehradun to Pantwari and Trek to Base Camp

You will be picked up from the Dehradun Railway Station in the morning and we will start the drive to village Panthwari. On the way, you will explore the beautiful Mussoorie Queen of Hills and Kempty Falls. Nag Tibba road we will take a turn and then finally reach Panthwari almost about 12 pm.

After having lunch and a little rest at Panthwari, we will begin the trek. At the beginning of the trek, you will find a cemented path but as you will move forward the trail will turn rocky. Before you reach the ridge that connects the Panthwari side of the hills to Nag Tibba, you will come across a beautiful Goat Village which is an attractive tourism resort.

During the trekking, you will explore oak and rhododendron forests. The stay will be scheduled at base camp from where you will experience a fascinating view of nature.

Day 2: Base Camp to Nag Tibba Summit and Descend to Pantwari and Drive back to Dehradun

The trek will start early in the morning because it is going to be a long day. After finishing the breakfast till 5:00 am, we will start trekking to the top. We will go through thick forests and the same path is covered with snow at the time of winter, making the trek a bit difficult. 

After 20 to 30 minutes of trekking, you will reach in two open patches of land. Now from here, we will trek to Nag Tibba temple which is the base of Nag Tibba hill, and from here you have a clear view of Himalaya peaks. 

On a steep incline, the trek will continue into the forest. From here the trek is a little bit difficult but will surely give you a mind-blowing trekking experience. Now you will finally reach the flag marking Nag Tabbi summit. You will also get an amazing sight of astonishing snow-covered mountains like Kala Nag, Bandarpoonch, Gangotri & Kedarnath. 

After having lunch at the camp we will trek back to Panthwari. From here we will drive back to Dehradun, marking the end of a memorable trekking trip. 

How To Reach

By Air:

The nearest airport to the Nag Tibba base is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, located approximately 90 kilometers away. From the airport, one can hire a taxi or take a private vehicle to reach the town of Pantwari, which serves as the starting point for the trek. The journey from the airport to Pantwari takes around 3 to 4 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions.

By Bus:

Several government and private buses ply between major cities like Delhi, Dehradun, and Mussoorie to Pantwari or the nearby town of Devalsari. From Dehradun, buses to Pantwari are available from the Mussoorie Bus Stand or the Dehradun ISBT (Inter-State Bus Terminal). The bus journey typically takes around 5 to 6 hours from Dehradun to Pantwari.

By Train:

The nearest railway station to Nag Tibba is Dehradun Railway Station, situated approximately 85 kilometers away. From the railway station, one can hire a taxi or take a local bus to reach Pantwari. The journey by road from Dehradun to Pantwari takes around 3 to 4 hours.

Regardless of the mode of transportation chosen, it is advisable to check the schedules and availability in advance, especially during peak trekking seasons. Additionally, it’s recommended to plan for some buffer time, considering the mountainous terrain and occasional weather-related disruptions that may affect travel plans.

Cancellation Policy

In the occasion which you cancel your trek, that is the cancellation coverage we follow: –

Cancellation 30 days earlier than the beginning date of the trek 

— Get your complete trek rate returned in  Trek Voucher OR get a financial refund with 15 % cancellation charges. – Cancellation within 30 days and 20 days earlier than the beginning date of the trek

 — Get 80% of the trek rate in a Trek Voucher OR get a financial refund with 50% cancellation charges. 

– Cancellation much less than 20 days earlier than the beginning date of the trek 

— No financial refund

Altitude is a risk. Before you begin the trek, you should be aware of the effects of high altitude on your body. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) symptoms include a moderate headache, nausea, and overall discomfort.

Response:If you have any of these symptoms, notify the trek leader immediately and follow his advice. To deal with the scenario, each campsite contains a stretcher, a fully prepared first aid kit, and oxygen cylinders.

Weather Risk : No one can guarantee snow, rain, or sunlight, even if we keep a constant eye on the weather. Please keep in mind that your safety is our primary priority, and if the weather isn’t cooperating, we won’t leave the campsite.

Response: The choice to go or wait for better weather will be made solely by the Trek Leaders and Guides.

Risk: Injury is a possibility. While trekking across difficult terrains, minor injuries such as calf sprains, bruising, and other minor ailments are prevalent. Serious injuries, such as fractures or significant cuts, are quite uncommon.

Response: All of our Trek Leaders are trained in wilderness first aid. They’ve been taught to deal with emergencies and have a well-stocked first-aid equipment to deal with minor injuries. In the event of major injuries, the patient is carried to the nearest road-head on a stretcher and taken to the nearest medical facility.

DO’S AND DON’TS ON A TREK
1. Alcohols or any other intoxicating products ‘’STRICTLY PROHIBITED’’
during the trek.
2. Always pay heed to the trek guides or instructors.
3. Try not to leave the group under any circumstances.
4. Avoid trekking during the night as it is extremely dangerous.
5. Avoid using earphones as that might hinder your hearing.
6. Do not participate or encourage littering of the places in any form.
7. While visiting the local villages and tourist sites, obey the local guidelines
and instructions.
8. Do not harm or interrupt the local sentiments of the places.

the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Since adventure

member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in
the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan,
