The highest point in the state of West Bengal is Sandakphu Peak. Sandakphu was once regarded as a hiker’s paradise, but it is increasingly gaining popularity among regular tourists. It is becoming more accessible with the construction of new roads up to Gairibas, which is roughly halfway to the Sandakphu trek. We expect more tourists to flock to Sandakphu as its popularity develops across the country. The Himalayas run through the northern half of West Bengal, giving good chances for mountaineering and adventure sports. The Sandakphu Phalut hike is suitable for novices or those with only a moderate amount of trekking expertise. This Sandakphu Phalut walk allows you to cross the border into Nepal and then return to India through a twisting track. Your eyes will feast on sights of sky-touching mountains covered in snow for the majority of your journey.  About Sandakphu Trek Sandakphu hiking is one of the most well-known treks in West Bengal, as well as one of the best treks in Eastern India. With a height of 3638 meters, it is Bengal’s highest point (11935 ft). Sandakphu depicts the raw, natural splendor of the snow. The vista from the top is definitely worth the effort it takes to reach there, and nature is at its most beautiful here. The summit, aptly titled Trekkers’ Paradise, is a spectacular position from which one can see four of the world’s five tallest peaks in a constantly snow-covered arc: Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, and Lhotse. The walk is rather easy and may be done by anyone in reasonable physical condition, whether young or old.   Trek Highlights Beginning with the Rhododendrons and magnolias in the spring, the walk takes you through firm golden sceneries in the autumn, and eventually, the moderate white backdrop of winter. In different seasons, you can see how the views, landscapes, flora, and animals change. Starting in the east, the peaks of Sikkim can be seen, followed by the massive Kanchenjunga, and farther west, Mount Everest can be seen from Sandakphu, as well as several other peaks bordering Tibet. The view from the top is wide enough to fill two frames. One of these is the well-known “Sleeping Buddha. The Everest group is the other. The mountains of Bhutan and Sikkim to your right, facing straight ahead north, are Kanchenjunga.   Brief Itinerary Day 1: NJP/ Bagdogra To Kopidana • Altitude: 1,950 m/ 6,400 ft • Distance: 84 km Drive Duration: 5 hrs • Accommodation in teahouse • Pick-up time is 12:30 pm from NJP Railway Station/ Bagdogra airport parking. (goechala trek cost) In order to shed some light on why Goechala is so popular among trekkers worldwide, let’s take a look at some of its historical highlights. There has been a trail to Goechala for at least 4,000 years, though it wasn’t always so popular. This changed during the Nepalese Civil War that lasted from 1996 to 2006. Trekkers had no access to the world’s highest mountains during this time due to the unrest in Nepal. It was a heavy blow to the trekkers who had no choice but to find alternatives.  There was only Goechala at that time, a trail promising incredible views of the Singalila range and close-up views of the third highest mountain in the world (goechala trek cost)  There are countless highlights of the Goechala trek, but one of the highlights is watching the sunrise from View Point 1 and Dzongri.
