Bramhatal is a 6-day trek that includes the journey from the basic destination (Rishikesh) to the same point, as this place is situated in Lohajung, which is a part of Chamoli Garhwal, Uttarakhand. So, it would take you approximately 6 days for the total trek to be completed.

Well, now let’s have a glance at the origin of the name “Bramhatal.” As per Hindu culture, it is said that in this place the Creator of the mighty universe, “Bhagwan Brahma,” has meditated in this Tal. Tal is referred to as “lake,” so this place was named after his name, which made it Brahmatal.

Well, as the story makes us more concerned about the place, if you once visit this place, it will also make you more concerned about nature. The drastic change in nature will make you a little concerned about making your planet healthier. Brahmatal is at 12200 feet, and the maximum altitude is 3600 meters.

The trek starts from Lohajung, which is 2600 meters above sea level, which is also the base camp for starting your trek. You can also book a local guide for your trek from Lohajung.

  • The Trek journey starts in Rishikesh, which is one of the holiest cities in India. The Ram Jhulaa and the Laxman Jhulaa are familiar in the area.

    • The journey from Rishikesh to Devprayag

Passing from Rishikesh towards Devprayag, which is one of the five prayags of Uttarakhand, here you will see the combination of the 2 rivers across the area. The River Alaknanda and Bhagirathi combine in one and show up about their equality, which gives a soothing picture view.

    • The soothing Valley Lohajung

Moving forward, you will reach Lohajung, the nearest town of Brahmatal, which is also a valley. This valley shows you different aspects of nature. White Mountain, fully covered with snow, “The Greater Himalayas,” is not far from this valley, which shows you the different aspects of nature. This valley has a very heart-melting and soothing view.

    •  Jhanda chowk

As you start your trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal and from Bekaltal to Jhanda Chowk, this Chowk is familiar with its sunrise view, and people schedule their trek in such a way that they can see the sunrise from Jhanda Chowk.

As you reach Brahmatal, you will find yourself in “Heaven,” because Brahmatal has the best views from its peak. Himalayan Peaks such as Mount Trishul and Mount Nanda Ghuti, Neelkanth, Hathi Ghoda, Chaukhamba, mrigthuni.   blossom your heart and your emotions. The Himalayan peaks roar at the sky with their height, giving you an unbelievable experience.  This must be experienced in a lifetime.

Day 1: Rishikesh To Lohajung

Rishikesh is the starting point for the journey. Lohajung is 252 kilometres from Rishikesh and is located in the Chamoli. The journey to the village takes roughly 11-12 hours. You’ll drive along mountain roads from Rishikesh to Lohajung, with views of the Garhwal Himalayas in the distance on a clear day. Drive across a peaceful landscape with the River Ganga as your companion. You’ll pass through three of the country’s five major holy confluences along the way: Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karanprayag. The magnificent Nanda Ghunti summit is visible from Lohajung. You can catch a stunning sunset on the mountain peak if we arrive before sundown, painting it in incredible hues. The naming of the village is the subject of fascinating mythology.

Day 2: Lohajung To Bekaltal

The first day of trekking will begin at Lohajung and end at the Bekaltal campground. After a substantial breakfast, we’ll set out for Bekalatal, where you’ll be met by breathtaking views of Mt. Nanda Ghunti. After 5 to 6 hours of trekking through a coniferous forest of oak and firs, the walk ends at the Bekalatal Campsite. You’ll spend the night in twin-sharing campgrounds here.

The hike to the Bekaltal campground is 7 kilometres long and has a moderate climb. The trails are well-marked here, and a short stroll down the trail will take you to Mandoli, the first mountain town. As you walk along the trail, you’ll see the Mandoli settlement on your left. The trail continues to climb steadily, twisting and bending its way through the mountains. The Kali Valley, the confluence of the Kali and Pindari Rivers, will be visible. Following Mundoli, you’ll generally go through deep forests of Oak, Fir, and Cedar, as well as a significant number of rhododendron trees. A strong woody fragrance pervades the forest. After 2 hours on the trail, you’ll reach the next monument, a 10 m long wooden bridge that spans a brook. At this water source, you can ration water. After crossing the bridge, you’ll arrive at Begum, a beautiful and peaceful resting spot. Nanda Ghunti dominates the skyline, providing breathtaking mountain views as well as spectacular views of Navali and Bagdi Bugyal. After another 20 minutes of walking, you will reach Gujreni, where you will find two streams. Some hikers prefer to camp near Gujreni, but we’ll go a bit further and camp next to Bekaltal.

Day 3: Trek From Bekaltal To Brahmatal

Today’s trip will take you to Brahmatal and will be 8 kilometres long. Following forest trails, you will reach Telindi top, where you will be treated to breathtaking views of the Himalayas, and a further trek through snow-covered meadows will lead you to the Brahmatal campground. We’ll spend the night in tents. It’s a steep climb through oak and rhododendron groves that gradually softens into a steady incline, making the hike a little easier. The trail drops progressively until it reaches the Brahmatal campground. As the Bekaltal Lake gradually recedes, the steep ascent follows the deep forest cover. The tree canopy here is so dense that it barely permits any sunlight to pass through. Even in the early spring months, traces of snow can be found in the region’s lake of sunlight. After another hour of walking, you’ll reach Telindi Top, a lookout with panoramic views of Mt. Trishul and Mt. Nanda Ghunti. The Jhandi Top, a beautiful vantage point that allows you to snap unimpeded views of the mountain ranges ahead, is another kilometre from Telindi Top. Jhandi Top is the highest point on the ridge, and it drops to Brahmatal from there. We’ll set up the tents once we arrive at the campsite location, and you can go for a picturesque walk around Brahmatal Lake. The campsite is 600 metres from Brahmatal Lake.

Day 4: Brahmata To Daldum

Prepare to cross the Brahmatal Pass, the highest point on your hike. We’ll hike to the pass and then descend to Daldum, where we’ll set up camp. Brahmatal Pass is reached after a 2.6-hour walk along a mountain ridge. During the winter months, the lake is nestled in a magnificent clearing that is covered in snow. The trail continues to ascend beyond the lake, gradually merging with the ridge. You will walk along a spectacular ridge that descends on both sides as you pass through Chota Jhandidar and Bada Jhandidar. During the winter, the ridge is covered in snow, and depending on the weather, our crew will provide microspikes and gaiters. It takes around two and a half hours to reach the summit, where you will be greeted with breathtaking mountain vistas. Chaukhamba, Neelkanth, Nanda Ghunti, Kamet, Trishul, and Hathi Ghoda Parvat are among the many mountain peaks visible. It’s as if you’re seeing the mountain ranges on a movie screen; the scene is that strange. It takes roughly 3.5 hours to walk down to Daldum from here. Slowly, the trail disappears into the valley below. A grove of oak and rhododendrons also covers this section of the trail. Before retiring to your tents at the Daldum campsite, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 5: Descending to Lohajung
To get to Lohajung, use the trail on the left from Daldum. It’s a short 4 mile hike that takes 3 to 4 hours. The descent to Lohajung follows a well-marked track that crosses a few streams before passing through the same oak and rhododendron forest that you passed through earlier. It’s the same path you took when you first arrived. As you travel into the forest, you’ll come across a series of shepherd’s huts where people keep their animals. When you arrive in Lohajung, clean up at the hotel before exploring the settlement in the evening. As previously stated, the sunset from Lohajung is pretty spectacular. So you can see a beautiful sunset here and also go to the local market to buy a souvenir from your trip. At the guesthouse, a hot dinner will be served. We’ll go back to Rishikesh tomorrow after a full night’s sleep.

Day 6: Back To Rishikesh
We will drop you off at Rishikesh today, bringing the magnificent journey to a close. We’ll leave after your farewell tea with the Secure Travels team and continue towards Rishikesh. Rishikesh is 250 kilometres from Lohajung, and the journey takes about 10 hours. By 7:00 p.m., you’ll be in Rishikesh. Depending on traffic and road conditions, the time it takes to get to Rishikesh may vary. We’ll return to Rishikesh through the same mountain roads.

Fitness For Trekking

Tips to get fit for Trekking

Experiencing trek is almost everyone’s passion or dream. But before starting or planning for a hike, you must be aware of the during and post-trek pain of your body. It is essential to be strong enough to enjoy your whole trek without any disruption of body ache. One book or decide several months before going on a hike, so you have a significant amount of time exercising your body and training it to become flexible for the trek.

Following are some advantages of training yourself before trek:

  • It fosters aerobic fitness.
  • It improves blood circulation and breathing functions as well.
  • It makes the heart strong, preventing it from any problem.
  • It helps in toning legs.
  • Muscles get build-up which is very beneficial.

Therefore, one must do practice to gain all these benefits. It is not only for the trek but for lifetime fitness also.
Let’s have a look at some factors which must be kept in mind to practice before trek:

Importance of Stretching

It helps the body become flexible and allows you to move your body in any direction you want quickly. It helps make the joints such as shoulders, elbows, hips and knees stronger to prevent any mishappening. It provides much relaxation to your body and relieves the pain. And if you are going on a trek, it is essential to practice stretching way before your hike. It will help you in moving to the higher altitudes region more efficiently.

Sleep like baby

It is always said that one must sleep like a baby. It means sleep without any worries. This makes you have an adequate amount of sleep which is a significant factor in daily life. So, practice it daily and also before your trek. Try to make yourself comfortable to sleep at higher altitudes.

Good Shoes-Good Trek

It is so evident that one has to walk and only walk while Trekking, so it is far more essential to have a good pair of trekking/hiking shoes. Practice walking by wearing your boots before the trek to make yourself used to them. You may opt for an option to keep an extra pair in your bag while trek to help yourself in the opposite condition.

Altitude is a risk. Before you begin the trek, you should be aware of the effects of the high altitude on your body. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) symptoms include a moderate headache, nausea, and overall discomfort.

Response: If you have any of these symptoms, notify the trek leader immediately and follow his advice. To deal with the scenario, each campsite contains a stretcher, a fully prepared first aid kit, and oxygen cylinders.

Weather Risk: No one can guarantee snow, rain, or sunlight, even if we keep a constant eye on the weather. Please keep in mind that your safety is our primary priority, and if the weather isn’t cooperating, we won’t leave the campsite.

Response: The choice to go or wait for better weather will be made solely by the Trek Leaders and Guides.

Risk: Injury is a possibility. While trekking across difficult terrain, minor injuries such as calf sprains, bruising, and other minor ailments are prevalent. Serious injuries, such as fractures or significant cuts, are quite uncommon.

Response: All of our Trek Leaders are trained in wilderness first aid. They’ve been taught to deal with emergencies and have well-stocked first-aid equipment to deal with minor injuries. In the event of major injuries, the patient is carried to the nearest roadhead on a stretcher and taken to the nearest medical facility.

DO’S AND DON’TS ON A TREK
1. Alcohols or any other intoxicating products ‘’STRICTLY PROHIBITED’’
during the trek.
2. Always pay heed to the trek guides or instructors.
3. Try not to leave the group under any circumstances.
4. Avoid trekking during the night as it is extremely dangerous.
5. Avoid using earphones as that might hinder your hearing.
6. Do not participate in or encourage littering of the places in any form.
7. While visiting the local villages and tourist sites, obey the local guidelines
and instructions.
8. Do not harm or interrupt the local sentiments of the places.

IMPORTANT:
Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with Secure Travels.
Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of
the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Since adventure
entails traveling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we
will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, the health condition of a group
