Dayara Bugyal Trek – A trek through Meadows

The Dayara Bugyal trek is mostly known for its alpine meadows and the majestic views of the Himalayas. This beginner friendly trek starts from Raithal or Barsu village. The trek is highly adventurous, and a push point for many to experience beautiful landscapes and meadows!
Best Time for Dayara Bugyal Trek
The best time for the trek is in summer when the meadows are green, and the weather is pleasant. Also, in winter during december and february for snow trekking and skiing. This region is blanketed in snow.
This trek can be done at any time of the year, however one is avoided to go on this trek in the monsoon months. This very trek can be done for 8 months in one year, except for the rainy season. If you’re fond of snow then you must go on the trek during winter season.Autumn is also considered a good time, as the weather is pleasant and one can get clear views of the surroundings and mountain ranges.

DAY 1: Dehradun to Natin

Drive for about: 180 km for 6-7 hours
Pick up: From Railway Station, Dehradun
DAY 2: Natin to Gui
Altitude: 7,400 to 9,500 ft.
Distance to be covered: 3.5 km for about 4-5 hours
DAY 3: Gui to Chelapada
Altitude:9,500 to 9,800 ft.
Distance to be covered: 3 km for 2 hours
DAY 4: Chelapada to Dayara Bugyal top and get back to Gui
Altitude: 9,800 to 12,100ft
Distance to be covered: 6 km( single way distance) for 6-7 hours
DAY 5: Gui to Natin
Altitude: 9,900 to 7,400 ft
Distance to be covered: 3.5 km for 2 hours
DAY 6: Natin to Dehradun
Time to be taken: 6-7 hours
Reach by: around 3-4 p.m.
It is a six day trek where one can explore the many flora and fauna, and also come across wildlife and nature.
Day 1: Dehradun to Natin
The trip to Natin Village begins in Dehradun. 7,400 feet are above sea level. It takes six to seven hours to go 180 km (via Mussoorie) from Dehradun to Natin. Dayara Bugyal’s base camp, Natin, is located 38 kilometers from the Uttarkashi district. The hamlet is incredibly beautiful and entirely covered in greenery. The Natin Village is traversed by the Bhagirathi River. After that, you will go via a pass between mountains on your way to Raithal. The views of Shrikanth Peak and the Gangotri Range will wow you.For capturing the beauty of the place you can wait and spend some quality time in this beautiful place.
Day 2: Natin to Gui
You will travel in the direction of Gui on the second day (7,400 to 9,500 ft). After eating breakfast early in the morning, you will continue traveling in the direction of Gui. Gui is 3.5 miles away and takes roughly 4–5 hours to get there. The trail winds through a jungle and offers breathtaking vistas of ancient silver oak trees. It takes a little longer to get to the campsite because the route becomes more ascended over time.A campsite blanketed in seemingly endless alpine trees will be visible. Gui offers stunning views of the Shrikanth Peak and the Gangotri range. You will sleep in tents at the campsite and eat dinner there as well.
Day 3: Gui to Chelapada
There will be trekking available to you on the third day. You will arrive at Chelapada, the next campground, on this day (9,500 to 9,800 feet). You can have a great experience trekking on this particular day because it won’t last long. The 3 km will take 2 hours to complete. There might be some snow left in the spaces between the paths. There will be streams of water running close to the campsite as well.Enjoy a delectable dinner and spend the night here.
Day 4: Chelapada to Dayara Bugyal top
At last, the day has arrived to reach the peak. This day, you will travel from Chelapada to Dayara Bugyal Top (9,800 to 12,100 feet). You will also go back to Gui on the same day. It will take six to seven hours to cover the six kilometers one way. Aside from making you feel incredibly excited, the Dayara Bugyal Trek will make you fall in love with the area repeatedly. When you get to the top, you’ll see a huge meadow. Numerous flower kinds that adorn the road will be revealed to you.The incredible road you will be taking will leave you completely clueless when you reach the summit. A natural water stream will also be visible.It may seem difficult to climb to the final objective, but it will be worthwhile in the end. You will also be able to glimpse the breathtaking Dodital range once you get at your destination. The Gidara Pass, which divides the routes of Pichkiya and Gidara Bugyal, will then come into view. Take some time to appreciate the area’s natural splendor, take photos, and see nature up close. You will undoubtedly experience great serenity and a worthwhile sense of fulfillment.Once you have had some time to yourself there, you should return to Gui. Although the day may wear you out, it is still worthwhile.
DAY 5 : Gui to Natin
Now that the time has come to go back to where you started, you can take the same way home. You are going to remain in Natin on this day. To learn more about the area and get the impression that the inhabitants are genuinely nice and always have a grin on their faces while interacting with visitors, you may even stroll around the village and engage in conversation with the locals. Stay the night in Natin.
DAY 6 : Natin to Dehradun
Finally, the journey comes to an end. On this day you will return to Dehradun from Natin. You will reach Dehradun by 3-4 p.m. Take lots of memories with you and plan to come back with more enthusiasm and joy.Enjoy this trek and make everlasting memories with your friends and family.
